I received a WhatsApp message about a potential side job opportunity. The initial contact asked for some personal information, such as whether I am a U.S. citizen and if I’m over 25 years old. During a brief introductory interview, I was asked general questions about my current job and educational background. I inquired about the responsibilities of the role and requested more information about the company, "Rothbright." The responses felt scripted, which didn’t surprise me—many screening interviews tend to be that way.

The job involved reviewing two sets of 40 products using their "highly sophisticated" platform. I was told that most hires also work weekends and that commissions could increase daily, with a potential monthly income of up to $9,000. I was informed that a follow-up would occur within a few days, again via WhatsApp. After that, the person offered to begin my free training. I suggested using Teams or Zoom for better communication, but she said that wasn’t allowed. Although I was skeptical, I continued via text, noting that her English indicated she was likely not a native speaker.

Throughout the training, she required me to send screenshots of each step, which I found irritating. We also set up a Bitcoin app, as all transactions were handled via tokens. She preloaded my account with $1,000 for training. I found the excessive praise for simple tasks off-putting. The review process felt dishonest—I was reviewing products I had never seen, using pre-written dropdown-style reviews that often didn’t match the product images. I rewrote and corrected many of them.

I "earned" about $900, thanks to a "lucky order"—something supposedly rare for newcomers.
