Warning: My Experience With Stadpay.online Freelancer Job Offer I am sharing my experience to help other freelancers make informed decisions. I was contacted through WhatsApp with a freelance document conversion project. The task involved converting a 75-page PDF document into Microsoft Word format. The offered compensation was $3,500, with payment supposedly made after completion. The process followed these steps: I was introduced to a project manager named Danny Make. I was asked to create an account on stadpay.online to receive payment. The platform requested personal information, including name, country, gender, email, age, phone number, job title, and department. The platform required: Sign-in PIN Withdrawal PIN Face enrollment Dashboard verification After completing the setup, the platform generated: A virtual debit card An employee ID A dashboard showing payment-related features The platform also displayed a page containing “worldwide testimonials” claiming successful withdrawals from freelancers in different countries. However, I could not independently verify these testimonials outside Stadpay's own website. The final step was the most concerning. After attempting withdrawal, I received a message stating: “Your account requires the activation of a virtual card to facilitate future payouts. A refundable activation payment of $60.00 is required.” When I questioned the requirement, I was told the payment was an: “international transaction fee” required for legal and international transfer procedures. The concern is that the original agreement stated payment would be made via bank transfer after completion. The process later changed into requiring an upfront payment before receiving funds. Important warning signs: Very high payment for a simple document conversion task. Recruitment through WhatsApp. Requirement to create an account on an unfamiliar payment platform. Face enrollment requirement. Virtual card generation before receiving actual payment. Requirement to pay an activation fee before withdrawal. I have not paid the $60 fee. This post is not claiming a final legal conclusion about Stadpay. It documents my personal experience and the warning signs I encountered so other freelancers can perform their own checks before sharing personal information or paying any fees.
