Walk away. Seriously — it will be nothing but headaches.
I first bought the course from Acadi.ai exactly two months before October 12. That’s when they billed me $84.99. If you bought the course less than 60 days ago, go back to where you purchased it and cancel any future charge they set up.
I took the $24.97 course. The sign-up wasn’t smooth and I didn’t want the upsells, but after a bit of effort I got in and took the course. I wasn’t happy with it — it felt like it should have been closer to $10. I learned a little, but it wasn’t worth $25, and I could have done a better job, I wouldn’t have put my name on what they sold.
I was at my PC when the $84.99 charge hit. I emailed Acadi.ai immediately requesting a refund. I got a reply in a couple of days offering half the money back. I didn’t want half — I didn’t order that course. Considering how long this dragged on, I wish I had taken the half refund and been done with it. I wrote several more times and then heard nothing.
I contacted my bank and got the money back. After that, Acadi.ai finally replied. They said the bank pulling the money started the complaint, my account was suspended, but they said when the complaint was removed, they would refund me. PayPal then ruled in their favor and charged me again, as that practice is fine. So with the complaint closed and my money back in their pockets, I again asked for my refund as they had said. No refund followed, no answers to emails, and PayPal had already ruled — I was just out. And you would be too.
It’s been a long mess and I lost. Many days spent dealing with it, and I ended up out the money and the time. Their practice fits inside PayPal’s rules, so there’s little recourse.
I don’t have a single good thing to say. Be glad you read this. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
