My experience was the same as others. I paid .95 for a one-time file conversion, and without further ado they started charging me $39 per month for a service I don't want and don't need. I saw nothing about this on their website. And I'm having a heck of a time canceling.

their method of claiming they are free, allowing IP to be made within their (without any consent or agreement forms claiming they aren't actually free) site before holding your file ransom for a fee is illegal in the US and Canada and is improper use of bailment, as a citizen of either country you are legally allowed to reclaim your intellectual property through request or nonintrusive methods. The workaround? Get yourself a prepaid visa, spend all the money on the visa, and then enter the details in their payment field, because they developed the payment to wait until a week after (probably due to how they've set their scam up, as they try to charge over $40 CAD without the user immediately noticing) they will accept the empty prepaid as valid. Then you can download your file, delete everything you can on their end and walk away laughing (also if they're reading this how does it feel to get duped by a card whose name on file was "stopstealingmyip andstopplayingwithme , bet your feel real silly now) bunch of amateur web devs trying to run a scam lol, next time remember inspect element exists and people can look at your code if they want.

I used their service once, for a supposed one-time fee of .95 paid for by my debit card. Some days later a charge came through on that card for $39 for a "subscription" I never signed up for. I demanded a refund, they said they canceled the subscription I never had, but could not refund my initial $39 fraudulent payment. Now they say they will refund it after 5 days. I will wait and see. If not refunded a complaint will be made with the BBB. There service was quite adequate, and I was happy with what was purported to be the one time small fee. But then when they tried to charge me a $39 MONTHLY fee for a subscription I never signed up for, this told PDF House has at the very least shady business practices, but more likely is a SCAM.

This website is a scam
PDF House advertises a $1 charge, but after I entered my card details, they deducted $34 instead after 7 days. This was not clearly mentioned anywhere during checkout, and no clear subscription was disclosed. No one would pay $34 for a subscription for one PDF edit.
This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic. I did not authorize a $34 payment.
Save yourself the trouble—do not trust this site.

I do not remember signing up with this company. They are sending through an auto debit to my checking account. I want to find out how to contact and cancel them.
